In September 2020 following a review of the evidence, the WHO issued guidance not to use Remdesivir for people with COVID-19, as there was no good evidence of benefit.

Remdesivir is the only Food and Drug Administration-approved drug for the treatment of COVID-19.

You know those random rabbit holes you fall down, this time, about Remdesivir, the company that acquired it in March 2020, its anticompetitive practices, and the fact that it went from being unapproved to being the *only* approved drug for COVID. 

The phrase “follow the money” is always useful, but when you’re asking why certain drugs are forced on patients while others are denied during a “pandemic,” it takes on a whole new urgency.
